Baker family

(L-R) Alice Baker, Jane Justin Shular Baker, Dolly Shular Nichols, Birdie Baker Akard, daughters of Birdie Baker Akard. Jane Shular was born in NC and moved to Sevier County and married Bill Baker in the 1880's. They lived on Walden's Creek. Bill had a store located next to the Methodist Church. Jane died in 1946 and is buried in the church cemetery. Dolly Shular Nichols lived near the TN/NC line in Graham, NC. She died in Alcoa, TN, in 1956 and is buried in the Lower Yellow Creek (Shular) Cemetery near Robbinsville, NC.
