John Moon and Family About 1925
William M. Moon was the son of William and Asenath Moon. He was married
to Mahala Patterson, the daughter of Cornelius and Vilet Patterson, on
October 5, 1852 by Rev. Bogart. Mahala Patterson Moon was born Jan 8, 1824
and died June 30, 1907. She is buried in Providence Church Cemetery. //--// These are his children //--// John Moon and his wife Dialtha //--// Shrader Moon (seated) and their children standing behind them: Laura Miller, Eda Kerr, Walter Moon, and Lillie Kerr. //--// John Moon is the son of
William Mitchell Moon. We think this picture was taken around 1925. //--// William Mitchel Moon was born in Sevier County, Tennessee on Feb 22, 1826
and died Apr 29, 1893. He is buried in Providence Church Cemetery in
Sevierville, Tennessee. According to his military records he enlisted in
Company I of the 2nd Tennessee Cavalry as a Corporal in Sevierville on Sept
22, 1862 for a term of 3 years. At the time he enlisted, he was 33 years
old, 5' 8" tall. He had blue eyes, brown hair and was a farmer. He
mustered out in July of 1865. He later filed for an invalid pension
because of chronic rheumatism due to exposure while in service.
